Lebanon Records New COVID-19 Cases & Deaths

Lebanon registered 995 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Monday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The Ministry indicated in its daily report on the outbreak that 985 local infections and 10 infections among inbound travelers were registered in Lebanon between Sunday and Monday.

In the same period, 34 virus-related fatalities were confirmed in the country, which raises the cumulative number of local deaths related to the pandemic to 6,959, whereas the total number of recoveries currently stands at 429,616.

With these numbers taken into account, Lebanon now has 80,591 active infections. It also has 6,959 infections among healthcare workers, of which 1 was confirmed between Sunday and Monday, according to the report.

The new cases emerged from 7,352 tests administered in the past 24 hours, including 4,666 local PCR tests, 2,202 airport PCR tests, and 484 antigen tests.

In total, 3,814,173 tests to detect COVID-19 have been administered in Lebanon since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of the time of writing, there are 1,733 infection cases in hospital beds across Lebanon, 785 in critical condition in intensive care unit beds, and 215 on mechanical ventilation.

On Sunday, the Health Ministry confirmed 1,900 infections and 39 fatalities.
