After a series of success at America’s Got Talent (AGT) – Season 17, and snatching the title of this season, Lebanon’s Mayyas group were officially handed the Lebanese Gold Medal of Merit by the Lebanese president to acknowledge its recent and prestigious win in the U.S.
During the ceremony, President Michel Aoun stressed that the strength and performance of the Mayyas brought an image of harmony, which enabled them to present paintings beyond imagination and achieve this global success in the name of Lebanon.
The Lebanese President also pointed out that, from the beginning of their performance at AGT, he was sure of their victory, and decided to honor them in recognition of the success they have achieved for Lebanon and to encourage their “rich giving.”
With that, President Aoun presented the Lebanese choreographer and founder of the Mayyas Group, Nadim Cherfan, with the Lebanese Order of Merit. “I am more than proud, pleased, and raise my head with this medal,” Cherfan expressed at the honor.
Adding that “I dedicate this medal to every mother, father, brother, sister, and grandmother in this country, who are tired, hardened, and crying to give their children a decent life and not leave this country.”
Cherfan also thanked the Mayyas member’s parents for the trust they gave him to cross the seas with their daughters. “You treated me like I was one of your sons, and I thank you for that, and I dedicate this award to each of you.”
