Lebanon’s basketball team qualified for the semi-finals of the FIBA Asia Cup 2022 after leading a victorious match over its Chinese counterpart with a 72-69 win.
The Cedars team players settled to lead throughout the match with Lebanese players giving a strong start with 25 points in the first half.
The major players throughout the game were Wael Arakji (with 32 points) and Jonathan Arledge (with 16 points, 11 rebs), resulting in Lebanon building up a big win with 16 points in the third quarter.
This win comes as the first-ever Asia Cup win for Lebanon over China, it is also Lebanon’s first time to qualify for the Semi-Finals since 2009.
The Lebanese basketball team will later face its Jordanian counterpart in the Semi-Finals.
