Lebanon’s caretaker Energy Minister, Walid Fayyad, extended on Wednesday the second-round licensing deadline for gas companies to explore in the Lebanese waters until December 15.
According to the National News Agency (NNA), the decision was taken after the request by the Lebanese Petroleum Administration to give more firms the chance to bid.
The Caretaker Minister’s decision came only hours after Lebanon’s President, Michel Aoun, presented proposals regarding the rising tensions over the disputed maritime border between Lebanon and Israel.
