Lebanon Just Failed To Elect A New President For The 6th Time

The presidential elections, which were scheduled for today, have failed to elect a Lebanese president for the sixth time.

The session’s results are as follows:

  • White ballots: 46 votes
  • MP Michel Mouawad: 43 votes
  • Issam Khalifeh: 7 votes
  • Ziad Baroud: 3 votes
  • Suleiman Frangieh: 1 vote
  • Other names: 1 vote
  • 11 cancelled votes

Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri then adjourned the next session for Thursday, November 24, 2022.
