Lebanon Concluded Its Journey At The AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers By Scoring A Big Win Against Singapore

Lebanon’s U20 Football Team concluded its journey in the 2023 FC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan, finishing 2nd in Group 9 with 6 points, after achieving its 2nd victory in the 3rd and final round against Singapore (6-1).

The start of the match saw the Lebanese national team take absolute control, and in the 12th minute, the Cedars were able to open the scoring by Mohamed Safwan.

Safwan also scored the team’s 2nd goal, after a pass from Ali Kassas. The Lebanese team also scored the 3rd goal after the Omani referee counted a penalty for the team.

In the 40th minute, Singapore managed to score a goal, reducing the gap. Lebanese players then dominated the game in the second half, as the Lebanese player Ali Kassas scored the 4th goal.

In the 61st minute, Kassas also scored the team’s 5th goal and his 3rd hat-trick after a superb pass from Omar Bahlwan.

Captain Mohamed Sadek wrapped up the match by scoring the 6th goal in the 91st minute after a superb individual effort.

Tajikistan topped the group standings with 7 points from 3 matches, compared to 6 points for Lebanon, 2 points for Singapore, and 1 point for Cambodia.

The team in the 1st place in each group and the “Top 5” 2nd place teams in the 10 groups will qualify for the finals to join the host Uzbekistan.
