Lebanon’s men’s basketball team (under 16 years) started day 1 of the U16 FIBA Asian Championship 2022 with a big victory over Indonesia (76-49) in the match that took place on Sunday in Doha, Qatar.
The Cedars team dominated the match from the beginning and scored a 27-point difference.
The best scorers on the Lebanese team were Serouj Avedisian (with 19 points) followed by Rayan Hachem (16 points), and Karl Zammata (10 points).
13 countries (divided into 4 groups) are participating in the championship where Lebanon will play its second match against Iran on Tuesday.
The FIBA U16 Asian winner will qualify for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup held in Malaga, Spain, where four teams will get the chance to represent the region from July 2 until July 12, 2022.
