Lebanon Just Amended The Lebanese Passport Fees

Acting Minister of Information and Minister of Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, announced on Wednesday after the government session, a change in the fees required for issuing the Lebanese passport.

The amended fees are now as follows:

  • 5 years: 600,000 LBP
  • 10 years: 1,200,000 LBP

The General Directorate of Public Security in Lebanon has recently launched an online platform to facilitate appointments related to the Lebanese passport, allowing Lebanese nationals to take an appointment to renew their passports or to request a new one.

The move came as thousands of people rushed to request a passport or renew theirs at the aggravating economic crisis, aiming to leave the country.

That resulted in many waiting for hours overnight for passport procedures and in an alarming increase in demands, with 7,000 to 8,000 daily applications for a passport.
