Lebanon Just Launched Online Coronavirus Update Website

Two weeks ago, The961 launched the online tracker, double-checking sources from the Ministry of Health (MOH), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Lebanese Red Cross.

It has been tracking and recording confirmed cases, recoveries, rate of recovery, deaths, and mortality rates, updated multiple times a day, along with a map showing the number of cases in the regions of Lebanon.

The MOH just launched a site, which is only available in Arabic, with similar information on Thursday, March 19th, as announced by the Minister of Information Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd.

The Coronavirus COVID- 19 page was launched on the website of the Ministry of Information (MOH) in cooperation with the Directorate of Guidance in the Army Command.

“In the context of facilitating the media’s mission to access the correct and official information, we launched today the Corona page on the website of the Ministry of Information,” minister Abdel Samad said.

She went on explaining, “It includes the latest developments related to the Coronavirus, and is the official source of all information regarding statistics and efforts made to combat this virus.”

“This disease and people’s health is not a joke, the nation’s health security is not a joke, and it is not a joke to spread rumors,” she stressed, adding: “This is our campaign, and we hope all media colleagues and citizens will contribute to it.”

The Minister concluded by thanking “the entire team at the Ministry of Information and the Army Command, and all the doctors, media professionals, artists, and athletes who cooperated” with the ministry.

Lebanon has been fighting against the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak since February 21st when the first case was confirmed. Since then the number of cases has been increasing.

As of Thursday, March 19th, the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Lebanon reached 149 throughout Lebanon, according to the daily report of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) confirmed on Thursday that 13 coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were released for home quarantine after proven clinical recovery.

It remains that the health minister has announced, also on Thursday, that the danger level of the coronavirus outbreak in Lebanon has increased. People are urged to continue abiding by the preventive guidelines, including social distancing and self-quarantine.
