Lebanon’s Ministry of Energy and Water just set the price meter for private generators for the month of July.
The new prices are as follows:
For residents at an altitude lower than 700m:
- For a capacity of 5 Amperes: LL 100,000 (fixed) + LL 13,545 for every kilowatt per hour produced.
- For a capacity of 10 Amperes: LL 220,000 (fixed) + LL 13,545 for every kilowatt per hour produced.
For people residing at an altitude of 700m or higher:
- For a capacity of 5 Amperes: LL 100,000 (fixed) + LL 14,899 for every kilowatt per hour produced.
- For a capacity of 10 Amperes: LL 220,000 (fixed) + LL 14,899 for every kilowatt per hour produced.
LL 120,000 is added to the fixed portion of the meter price for each additional 5 Amperes.
The tariff was calculated on the basis of an average price of LL 692,733 per 20 liters for the month of July.
The ministry stated as well that it included additional costs such as the change of oil and filters at the exchange rate of LL 29,473/USD.
