Lebanon qualified for the quarter-finals of the U16 FIBA Asian Championship, held in Doha, after defeating its Qatari counterpart by 78-54.
Lebanon’s top performers during the game were: Rayan Hachem (17 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals); Anthony Naba (13 points, 7 rebounds); and Karl Zammata (8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocs, 1 steal).
The men’s basketball team is now one step away from qualifying for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup. Its final match will be against its South Korean counterpart on Friday, June 17.
The FIBA U16 Asian winner will qualify for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, which will take place in Malaga, Spain, from July 2 until July 12.
