The presidential election session scheduled by the parliament speaker Nabih Berri failed to achieve its goal of electing a president.
The session started at 11 am with 71 MPs present. Shortly after, the first voting round didn’t take place because of an unsecured quorum.
Berri rescheduled the session to October 20, 2022.
This is the second session scheduled to elect a president within the constitutional deadline, the first session took place on September 29, 2022.
