Lebanon Parliamentary Consultations Postponed Till Next Friday?

According to Al-Jadeed TV’s sources, the parliamentary consultations that were supposedly planned for next Thursday may have been postponed due to some deputies being outside Lebanon and others temporarily unavailable.

As per Al-Jadeed, the newly specified date for the consultations is possibly Friday, the 6th of the upcoming month. Official statements regarding the circulating news have yet to be made.

As a result of the news, protesters undergoing demonstrations around the presidential palace in Baabda are calling for the acceleration of the processes that lead to the formation of a technocratic government.

Supporters of the Free Patriotic Movement have formed a counter-demonstration and arrived at the perimeter of the presidential palace to face off with the protesters there. Minor conflicts broke out between the two groups and that has caused security reinforcements to be sent to the location.
