Lebanon registered 1,001 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections on Monday, the Health Ministry’s daily report on the outbreak indicated.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, as confirmed by the Lebanese authorities, there has been a total of 480,502 COVID-19 cases, 6,443 virus-related fatalities, and 386,768 recoveries.
These include 34 deaths and 6,296 full recoveries recorded between Sunday and Monday, according to the report. This puts active infections at 93,587. Of the cumulative number of cases, 2,662 are healthcare workers.
In the same period, 8,360 tests were administered across Lebanon to detect COVID-19, including 5,104 PCR tests for locals, 2,862 PCR tests for inbound travelers at Beirut Airport, and 62 antigen tests.
As of the time of writing, there are 2,069 COVID-19 patients in Lebanon who occupy hospital beds, 892 who are in critical condition in intensive care unit beds, and 255 who are on mechanical ventilation.
In total, 3,589,726 tests have been administered in Lebanon since its first COVID-19 case was detected in February 2020, according to the Health Ministry’s data.
On Sunday, the Lebanese Health Ministry registered 2,388 COVID-19 infections and 30 fatalities.
