Lebanon’s Rugby League team has finished its preparations to face Australia in the quarter-finals of the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC 2021), on Friday, November 4, at 9:30 pm (Beirut time), in England.
The Cedars held a final training session on Thursday under the supervision of coach Michael Cheika, who finalized the plans for the match.
Assistant coach Matt King said that the team has long been preparing for the RLWC 2021 and has achieved its first goal of going beyond the group stage and reaching the quarter-finals.
“Our focus throughout the week has been on preparing to face Australia, and we have the will and determination to achieve a good result and to continue to show the true image of the Lebanese team in the strongest tournaments,” he added.
The Lebanese national team was part of its qualification for the 2025 World Championship, finishing second with 4 points behind leaders New Zealand with 6 points in the first round of Group D after losing to New Zealand and beating Ireland and Jamaica.
