The iconic Skybar is making a thrilling comeback after a three-year pause! Known for its scintillating allure and as a lynchpin of Beirut’s nightlife, this is the news that many of you have been eagerly waiting for.
Let’s rewind a bit. In 2015, a menacing fire wreaked havoc on Skybar, reducing much of its space to ashes. But, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, it found a new home on the rooftop of the O1NE building, overlooking Beirut’s New Waterfront.
Unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived. The devastating Beirut explosion in 2020, coupled with the Covid pandemic, forced Skybar to shut its doors for what seemed like an indefinite period.
However, the tide has turned. An source informed 961, on the condition of anonymity, that the rights to Skybar had been obtained by Addmind, a main player in the Lebanese nightlife scene and the hospitality group behind brands like Iris, Bar du Port, Clap, and more. Addmind wasn’t immediately available for comment.
The iconic club has even teased its followers with a mysterious Instagram post simply captioned, “Did you hear?”.
The exact date of their grand re-opening remains under wraps.
So, whether you’re one of the 2 million people heading to Lebanon this summer, or a local ready for a great night out, make sure you’ve got Skybar on your radar.
