Information was made available to the Anti-Narcotics Office in the Judicial Police Unit about an attempt to smuggle to a European country a number of drugs professionally camouflaged inside a wooden sculpture of the Baalbek Castle.
As a result of intensive investigations, the Anti-Narcotics Office determined the location of the parcel in one of the postal companies, where 12.8 kg of drugs were found and seized.
On the same day, a patrol of the Central Anti-Narcotics Office in Batroun locality arrested the sender of the parcel and its partner in the smuggling operation, namely:
A. SH. (born in 1981, Lebanese)
D. T. (born in 1987, Lebanese)
They were arrested with 250g of cocaine hidden inside a piece of wood in the shape of a Lebanese cedar, which they were about to smuggle out of Lebanon.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the pertinent judiciary.
