Transportation Allowance For The Private Sector In Lebanon Just Increased

On Friday, the transportation allowance for the private sector in Lebanon increased from 65,000 LBP to 95,000 LBP per working day.

The decision was made official after President Michel Aoun signed the decree 9849 along with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Caretaker Minister of Labor Moustafa Bayram.

The decree will be implemented upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Since the start of the economic crisis, Lebanon has been witnessing a fuel crisis that is worsening with a fuel shortage and increase in prices.

The prices for Octane 95 have been fluctuating recently between 550,000 LBP and 600,000 LBP, which is around 16 times higher than the prices in 2021.
