On Wednesday, Denmark’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Merete Juhl, announced her departure on August 10th and welcomed the new ambassador Kristofer Vivike.
She stated in a tweet:
“After 4 fantastic and inspiring years in beautiful Lebanon, my term as ambassador to Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria has come to an end.”
“Thanks to all friends and partners of Denmark for making my time here special! Delighted to hand over to my excellent colleague Kristofer Vivike!”
Ms. Juhl has been the ambassador to Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria since September 2018.
She was previously the Danish ambassador to the UAE and Qatar from 2015 to 2018 as well as the ambassador to Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia from 2013 to 2015, and worked for the ministry of foreign affairs of Denmark for seven years.
She’s currently the CEO of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
On June 28, the Ambassador visited President Michel Aoun in Baabda Palace on a farewell visit.
