The Lebanese basketball team won its third victory over its host Saudi Arabia by 81 vs 68 points on Sunday evening in Jeddah in the competition for the Asian Qualifiers for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
The Lebanese players gave a good and professional performance on the field and finalized the match from its third round.
Lebanon held the lead during almost the whole game despite that Saudi Arabia put a lot of pressure on their opponents.
The third quarter saw scoring from the Lebanese player Sergio El Darwich who began controlling the momentum of the game and scored his 4 three-pointers before finishing with 16 points in the game.
However, it was Ali Haidar who led the Cedars team by scoring 23 points. Ater Major recorded 5 blocks in this game, which is more than any player in this Asian Qualifiers.
The win qualified Lebanon for the second round of the Asian Qualifiers for the World Championship that will be hosted by the Philippines.
The win for the Cedars team came after it won against Jordan in Amman last Friday.
Lebanon became the first team to win an away game in the Group C of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 for the Asian Qualifiers.
