On Tuesday evening, Lebanon’s team won over Jordan’s (79-56) on the first day of the West Asian Basketball Championship (WABA) for the under-16 men’s team.
The Cedars’ team dominated the match, with the Lebanese player Serouj Avedissian named as the best scorer with 21 points.
The U16 WABA Championship 2022, which is held between May 10 and 14 in Amman, is hosting five countries in the competition, namely Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Jordan.
The Lebanese team will now meet its Iraqi counterpart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday; the Iranian team on Thursday, May 12; and the Syrian team, on Friday, May 13.
After the matches conclude, two teams will qualify for the first and second place in the qualifiers for the Asian Championship finals, which will take place in Doha, Qatar, in June.
