Lebanon’s U18 basketball team won the West Asian Championship, which was hosted in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and was qualified for the Asian Championship to be held in Iran next month.
The Cedars gained the title after beating its Syrian counterpart in the final match that was held on Saturday with a result of 85-59.
The Lebanese team showcased professionalism throughout the championship, as they were far ahead of the rest of the teams that participated in the regional championship.
Lebanese basketball has proven its strength and presence and it is become one of the strongest not only in West Asia but also in the Asian and Oceanic continents.
According to Arasportslb, Lebanon is also coming closer to participating in the Men’s World Championships next year for the fourth time.
