On Sunday, Lebanese Forces-backed candidate, Pierre Bou Assi, had been subject to an attempt to run over.
According to a statement by his media office, “while MP Pierre Bou Assi was walking across Hammana Square, a speeding car with a Syrian plate drove towards him.”
“Three of his companions were injured, and when it became clear that the driver of the car was from Hammana, Representative Bou Assi refused to file a personal claim against him,” the statement added.
Since the start of the voting process, on Sunday, May 15, numerous Lebanese Forces candidates and delegates were the subjects of many clashes between them and Hezbollah-Amal partisans.
