The Dolphin’s diving team managed to break the record in Lebanon for the longest diving period, which reached about 18 hours continuously.
In an event that is the first of its kind, a team of 5 divers, accompanied and supervised by coach Abdelkader Mahfouz, set out on a diving trip at 4:00 AM and lasted until 10:00 PM.
The long diving day included holding the 5 underwater prayers, and practicing the day’s rituals of eating and drinking through a special tube.
This devotional act is the first of its kind in Lebanese waters, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Imam Hussein.
This activity was supported by the Civil Defense for Maritime Rescue in Jiyeh and logistic follow-up from a team of professional divers and paramedics.
