After suffering the terrible loss of his family, the mourning father and husband Imad Huwaili is faced with yet another tragedy.
In late June, Huwaili arrived from Africa directly to the funeral of his wife and four children, who died in a horrific car accident on the southern Jiyeh highway.
Hundreds of people attended the funeral in the village of Sharqieh in South Lebanon. Unbeknownst to them, Huwaili had contracted COVID-19 before arriving in Lebanon but didn’t know until days after his arrival.
This resulted in the spreading of coronavirus to dozens of people who were in close contact with him, according to Lebanese newspaper Nida Al-Watan
Huwaili was only days away from reuniting with his family when they crashed while trying to refuel the car so they can pick him up from the airport later that week.
Like many, Huwaili was forced to leave his family due to the economic crisis. He left 4 months ago and was returning to receive treatment for malaria, a life-threatening disease.
