Lebanese Manon Ouaiss Won The Gold Medal At Asian Alpine Ski Championship

Lebanese Manon Ouaiss won, on Saturday, a gold medal in the long slalom competition for the women’s category in the 30th Asian Alpine Ski Championship for Men and Women.

Lebanese Cesar Arnouk won 3rd place in the Men Slalom, and Carlie Iskandar also won third place in the Women Slalom.

The Asian Alpine Ski Championship was organized by the Lebanese Ski Federation for the first time at this level and under the body of the President of the International Federation Johan Eliasch.

It took place at the Mzaar Ski Resort in Kfardebian with the participation of 11 countries on February 23, 24, and 25.

This championship is an elite skiing contest by the Asian Ski Federation, hosting competitors from Asian countries, including Lebanon, China, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Hong Kong.

Manon Ouaiss participated in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, achieving a good personal score for the Alpine Alpine Skiing title, and returned home to participate in the Asian competition at the Mzaar Ski Resort and scored the gold medal.

The President of the Lebanese Ski Federation congratulated her on behalf of the Federation’s committee for her remarkable achievement.

In 2021, Ouaiss competed at the SES Cup in Montenegro, where she won 3 races among small evolving ski nations.

The 21 years old also won 3 national titles and claimed 9 FIS races in Lebanon and was second in the 2016 Asian Championships as a junior.
