The famous Lebanese band, Mashrou’ Leila, will hold a concert in London in May. The Beirut-based band is well acclaimed for the way in which its distinctive style combines western and oriental music. Mashrou’ Leila’s songs challenge the music industry in the Middle East since the band tackles subjects such as political freedom, religion, LGBT rights, and identity. These issues are taboo in most countries in the MENA region. Mashrou’ Leila has a fan base in the Middle East as well as in Western countries. The fans are amazed by their uniqueness.
