A fire broke out Wednesday evening in the Bab El-Ramel/Muharram neighborhood in Tripoli, the northern capital.
Residents reported hearing a loud blast, or an explosion, moments before seeing the fire, which engulfed a large pile of used spare car tires haphazardly placed in the area.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short circuit in one of the parked cars nearby the pile of tires which is how it spread.
Firefighters quickly arrived to put out the massive fire which is surrounded by cars and buildings.
Many cars were damaged in the fire. No injuries were reported as of yet and the damage was limited to materials.
