Master Chips issued on Monday a statement to clarify the rumors circulating regarding the company’s use of the rainbow colors on the cover of one of its snack products.
The statement highlighted that it was important for the company to clarify to the public that it has been using the colors for more than ten years and the use of the rainbow colors has nothing to do with any symbol (referring to the colors of the LGBTQ+ flag).
Master Chips added that it will stop using the packaging to put an end to the unjustified abuses, wishing everyone to be responsible and “not to hide behind new campaigns to hit the industrial sector in this economic crisis that Lebanon is going through.”
This statement comes after campaigns against the Beirut Pride march and several backlashes at the community, and the caretaker Interior Minister, Bassam Mawlawi, instructing Lebanon’s security forces to stop LGBTQ+ gatherings.
