Meet Maya Reaidy, the winner of Miss Lebanon 2018! The 22-year-old Lebanese American University Pharmacy student took home the crown last night. The ceremony was held at Forum de Beyrouth.
Mira Toufaily was the first runner-up. She is followed by Yara Abou Monsef, Vanessa Yazbeck, and Tatiana Saroufim.
Nicolas Jebran dressed all the contestants in mesmerizing gowns. Maya wore a beautiful blue feather dress.
The competition was organized by Rima Fakih, Miss America 2010. The event featured performances by TV personality Maya Diab, Lebanese-Canadian rapper Massari, and American hip-hop artist French Montana. Marcel Ghanem and Annabella Hilal presented the ceremony.
A lot of people pointed out that Maya looks like Georgina Rizk, Lebanon’s first and so far only Miss Universe who won the title in 1971. Georgina is also the first woman from the Middle East to win this title.
Since Maya won the crown, she will be competing in the Miss Universe 2018 competition. The event will be held in Thailand on December 16.
Let’s help Michele Hajal!
This tweet caught my attention yesterday.
Translation: “It would’ve been nice if MTV talked about Michele, a previous Miss Lebanon contestant who is battling cancer.”
Michele Hajal needs our help to beat cancer. The 24-year-old suffers from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Michele failed many chemotherapy treatments in Lebanon.
She will be receiving the CAR-T Cells therapy in the United States. It costs around $740,521. She is in a critical situation because her lymphoma is growing rapidly.
