Mechanical Inspection Workers Syndicate In Lebanon Called For A Protest On Tuesday

LBCI

The Ministry of Interior decided to stop the mechanical inspection as a result of the operating company’s decision to raise the tariff without passing through the legal frameworks.

The operating company immediately stopped work and closed all inspection centers in Lebanon and arbitrarily dismissed all employees.

This led to the displacement of employees and their families, and the halt of their salaries, which threatens their livelihood and their rights.

The Mechanical Inspection Workers and Employers Syndicate in Lebanon pointed out that the demand is to find a legal solution for mechanical inspection regulating this sector. That would be by including it in the Traffic Management Authority, or any other legal solution that secures stability, improves service for citizens, and preserves workers’ rights.

Accordingly, the Syndicate called for a protest under the supervision of the General Labor Union, to raise all employees’ voices demanding a solution.

The protest will take place on Tuesday, June 7th at 10:00 am in front of the Parliament in Beirut.
