After RealestK’s viral song WFM (short for Wait For Me) hit TikTok last year, “Toronto’s secret” became an emerging artist on the Canadian R&B scene.

Behind what the Torontonian music industry is hailing as “Toronto’s brand new sensation,” is a 17-year-old Lebanese student who uploaded his video song on YouTube while in school and hit fame instantly, not only in Canada but around the world.

He goes by the name RealestK, and his journey to fame started with the uploading of that video, WFM, in October 2021. By the weekend, a surprise was waiting for him: WFM debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard’s Hot 100.

The song became the go-to soundtrack for TikTokers around the world posting glow-up videos and boasting around 83 million streams on Spotify.

To date, RealestK boasts 3,916,550 monthly listeners on the same app and his WFM video song on YouTube is recording over 11 million views, as of the time of writing.

The Lebanon-born, Scarborough-bred artist signed a deal with Columbia Records. He has been ‘adopted’ by fellow Lebanese-Canadian music industry executive Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, the manager of The Weeknd and CEO of XO Records.

The rising Lebanese-Canadian star was also featured on Vevo DSCVR, an annual program highlighting emerging global artists, and has received cosigns from Drake and Canadian rapper Nav.

The 17-years old singer has since then uploaded many hit singles like Toxic, Love Me, and SWM along with other great songs, leaving thousands of fans waiting for what he has in store for the future.
