Behind the largest Virtual Reality gaming company in the Middle East are two Lebanese who created it and expanded it before they hit 30 years of age.
Robocom VR’s main mission is to introduce cutting-edge technologies to the MENA region, and immerse Virtual Reality fans with new and out-of-this-world experiences through new projects around the Middle East.
Karim Ibrahim and Toufic Assaf, graduates of the Lebanese American University (LAU), founded Robocom VR, a Lebanese firm that offers location-based virtual reality (VR) entertainment.
The two Lebanese masterminds were featured on the Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 list for 2020 for creating the largest gaming company in the Middle East.
Karim and Toufic founded Robocom VR to provide digital entertainment with a more realistic and life-like approach, giving gamers the chance to have a one-on-one adrenaline-thrilling experience.
They went on a “digital” journey to Robocom VR’s the Oasis Circle or “OC”, a simulation where people can interact in the future.
“It was then that the Virtual Era of the robot community was created, allowing our users the ability to a portal into new dimensions of gaming, fully immersed and in control of their destiny,” they explained on the Robocom VR’s website.
In 2017, the gaming company partnered with EMAAR, one of the biggest companies based in Dubai, to open a Virtual Reality theme park in Dubai Mall.
The company also has exclusive licensing to develop VR location-based simulators for many international companies, like Disney, Hasbro, the Discovery Channel, and Codemasters in the Middle East, South East Asia, India, Turkey, and North Africa.
In 2019, Robocom VR was awarded the Game Changers 2019 by Hasbro, an American multi-industrial company in the toy, board game, and media field, for formulating the ultimate Transformers VR simulator.
Robocom VR offers VR games and VR simulators in various countries, including:
- Transformers VR, The Avenues, Bahrain.
- Pixxel, Alqana, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- VR Park, Dubai Mall, UAE: one of the largest indoor VR theme parks in the world, across many genres like adrenaline, horror, and fantasy.
- Pixxel, American Dream Mall, New Jersey.
