It’s been nearly a month after the massive explosion ripped through Beirut, killing over 200 innocent people, and leaving thousands injured and homeless.

Since the blast, Lebanon has received heartwarming support from all around the world. Even celebrities have stepped in to help Beirut and its beautiful people.

Celebrities such as Rima Fakih, Sal, Amal and George Clooney, The Weeknd, Bella Hadid, and more, have contributed to relief efforts in Beirut.

The latest to provide support is the widely adored Meryl Streep. The award-winning actress just donated $25,000 to KAFA Lebanon.

KAFA is supporting women affected by the blast. Many women have lost their homes or are still healing from injuries sustained on August 4th.

The organization is focused on helping women with children, by offering psychological and social support and helping them restore their homes.

KAFA is also providing temporary shelter for migrant workers while helping them return home.

Ever since its launching in 2005, the NGO KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation has been thriving to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation in Lebanon.

It’s a secular, feminist, apolitical, and civil society organization that seeks “to create a society that is free of social, economic, and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women.”
