Lebanese Filmmaker Michel Kammoun Co-Directed An Upcoming Netflix Series

The anthology series titled Love, Life, and Everything in Between developed by Egyptian screenwriter Azza Shalaby will explore love and relationships with stories from across the MENA Region. The Netflix series will release on March 10.

The series explores the complexities of romantic relationships in 8 short films directed by award-winning directors from six regional countries.

The films are the work of several directors and co-directors from Arab-speaking countries, including Michel Kammoun (Lebanon), Khairy Beshara and Sandra Bassal (Egypt), Hany Abu Assad and Amira Diab (Palestine), Mahmoud Sabbagh and Abdulmohsen Al Dhabaan (Saudi Arabia), Kaouther Ben Hania (Tunisia), and Hicham Lasri (Morocco).

In his film, the Lebanese writer and director Michel Kammoun uses the desire of falling in love through many adventures by the lead character, Sami, as he delivers a Valentine’s Day gift to his clients. 

Michel Kammoun started his journey by studying architecture to then join the École Supérieure d’Etudes Cinématographiques, a film school in Paris.

He went on to write and direct several short films that made it to many international festivals and were distributed in countries such as the United States, Canada, Latin America countries, and many more. He has also directed many commercials.

His first feature film Falafel, which explores the lives of Lebanon’s lower middle class, won 9 International Awards, participated in many film festivals, and earned international approval, including Best Feature at Dubai International Film Festival.

It was also featured on Netflix and has been streaming for the past several weeks.

Kammoun also worked on foreign movies, like L’enfant Qui Connaissait Les Femmes, La Douche, Ombres, and Cathodique.

Nowadays, he lives between Beirut and Paris.
