The political party Citizens in A State (MMFD) failed to secure any seats in the newly-elected parliament despite running in 15 electoral districts across Lebanon.
Headed by its founder Charbel Nahhas, MMFD launched in 2016 to create “a civil, democratic, fair, and capable state.”
As per the party, the 2022 elections were a chance to confront the current regime and “sectarian leaders” with one governance program and 56 candidates all over Lebanon.
One of their most popular candidates, Lebanese journalist Jad Ghosn, who ran in Mount Lebanon II (Metn) district, was near to getting a parliament seat, only to be short of about 88 votes only to break the threshold.
