Internet cuts and malfunctions in Ogero‘s services are becoming more frequent across different cities in Lebanon.
Nearly two weeks ago, the head of Ogero Telecom Imad Kreidieh warned that continued electricity issues would threaten the company’s ability to provide internet and phone lines.
It wasn’t long before Ogero subscribers in 10 cities, Kfar Hatta, Kefraya, Dahr Lassin, Aannaya, Lehfed, Zefta, Nmairiyeh, Damour, Mechref, and Khaldeh, reported internet cuts.
Today, the same is happening to the Chouf mountain village of Barouk. This follows temporary cuts experienced earlier this week in Beiteddine as well as in Khaldeh again.
The internet and phone line cuts are due to increased pressure on Ogero‘s generators, the company said in a tweet. “Our technical teams have started working on following up on the matter,” it added.
Last week, Kreidieh said he met with Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh who promised to secure the Ogero‘s needs for it to continue providing its services to subscribers.
