Opposition MP Calls Out Lebanon’s Directorate General Of Oil For Not Reducing Fuel Prices

LBCI

On Wednesday morning, the Directorate General of Oil announced that it won’t release a new grid of fuel prices because its employees are holding a strike.

Opposition MP Mark Daou called out the Directorate on Twitter saying that “the price of an oil barrel has fallen below $100, which means that the price of a tank has to go down.”

“The employees have been on strike for weeks yet they still released new grids for fuel prices. There is no excuse for not issuing the schedule that reduces the price of a tank on the citizen today as soon as possible,” MP Daou added.

The Ministry of Energy and Water last changed the prices for fuel on Thursday morning. Prices slightly decreased before the Adha Eid.

Last Thursday, the price of crude oil was edging above $100 while today, Wednesday, it is edging below $100. The price of USD is still fluctuating at around 29,500 LBP since last week.
