On the 13th of July, the council of the Municipality of Beirut held a meeting to discuss the latest issues and take several decisions. The council decided to allow the citizens to pay municipal fees electronically via banks. This will ease the process of paying taxes since people won’t have to wait in long queues in governmental buildings anymore. Also, the Municipality Council decided to add a payment function on its website. That way, people will be able to do their payments without having to go to the Municipality. In addition to that, a mobile application will be created to enable people to do their payments anytime and anywhere. However, people will still be able to pay their fees at the Municipality and through the OMT service.
