In today’s session May 31st, 2022, of the newly elected parliament, Nabih Berri secured 65 votes hence preserving his position as Head of Parliament since 1992.
The ballot included 23 blank papers, and 40 votes were considered invalid. The votes were anonymous.
Members of parliament expressed yesterday that they wished to cast their votes for people and causes they believe in.
They included mentions of the Beirut Port explosion, justice for women against rape, and justice for Lokman Slim.
