The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is organizing the International Space Apps Challenge and inviting the Lebanese community to participate in one of the largest space and science hackathons.

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge, or Space Apps, is an international hackathon where coders, scientists, designers, builders, technologists, and others from around the world can engage in NASA’s free and open data to address problems on Earth and in space.

After the hackathon ends, participants start submitting these projects, which are judged by space agency experts, and the winners are then selected for one of ten Global Awards.

Space Apps also aims at ensuring collaboration and critical thinking to encourage the growth of the future generation of scientists, technologists, storytellers, and engineers, as well as give people the opportunity to bring their projects to life.

Space Apps will organize its opening ceremony on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 7:00 pm (all times: Asia/Beirut), and the hackathon will end on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 9:00 pm, at Space Apps’ main hub in Lebanon, Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).

For inquiries and registration, you can check NASA Space Apps Lebanon’s website. Those who want to register can do so by September 10, 2022.
