The Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) announced on Tuesday that it will keep its tuition fees in Lebanese Pound (LBP) for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
However, the university will charge the Technology and Student Services fee in cash USD, adding that the price per credit will be calculated at LBP 8,000/ USD.
Previously, universities such as the American University of Beirut (AUB) officially announced that they will only accept tuition fees paid in USD, the same currency “in which it must pay its expenses.”
Additionally, the Lebanese University (LU) also decided to dollarize its tuition fees for specialized master’s degrees in the Engineering faculty, however, the dollarization will not apply to other majors until now.
Now and then, Lebanese students enrolled in many universities across the country are taking the streets against the dollarization of the tuition fees, as a way to give every student the right to pursue their education without being financially incapacitated.
