Lebanese Nelly Attar Just Conquered The World’s 2nd Highest Peak

The Lebanese athlete Nelly Attar attained on July 22nd the 2nd highest peak in the world. known as K2 or The Savage Mountain, rising mightily at 8,611 meters above sea level.

With that remarkable achievement, which comes after her conquest of Mt Everest, Nelly Attar now stands as the first woman in the Middle East to reach this peak.

Attar dedicated her climb to the children at the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) and to everyone who is climbing the mountain of cancer.

Attar has previously succeeded in summiting 16 different peaks around the world, including the Mt. Everest peak in 2019 and 4 other peaks during the Seven Summits Climb Challenge.

This is in addition to participating in many marathons, triathlons, and diving races around the world.

However, her latest adventure, climbing the 2nd highest peak in the world, was the most dangerous and exciting as she had to challenge the mountains’ harsh weather and terrain.

By all means, reaching the K2 summit isn’t a painless dare to undertake. Only 377 mountaineers in the world were able to achieve it to date.
