It was reported that President Michel Aoun requested Amal Abu Zeid (Maronite), Eddy Maalouf (Catholic), and Wadih al-Absi (Orthodox) to be named ministers.
Local media indicated that Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati insists on appointing Muhammad Kanj instead of the current Minister of Economy, Amin Salam.
It also revealed the names that were presented to be named ministers instead of Salam are the economic expert Amer Basat, the former minister Walid Daouk, and the head of the Basil Fleihan Institute Lamia Moubayed Basat.
Also, there are names reportedly proposed to replace the Minister of the Displaced, Issam Sharaf El-Din: the current MP Mark Daou, and the president of the Beirut Marathon Association, May El-Khalil.
