A new biographical series called The Red Prince will delve into the secret life Ali Hassan Salameh, a top member of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, and his romance with one of the most beautiful women in the universe back then: Georgina Rizk.
Salameh, who was nicknamed The Red Prince by Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, was a prominent and notorious figure in the 70s. He will be played by famed Syrian actor Taim Hasan.
The 15-episode series will include real-life black and white footage of Salameh, Yasser Arafat, and a special surprise, Georgina Rizk.
After being crowned Miss Universe back in the 1970s, Rizk became a celebrity worldwide and a celebrated icon in Lebanon. And Salameh was the charismatic mysterious figure who stole her heart.
The couple got married in 1977 and honeymooned in the United States, which was believed to be a gift from the CIA.
Their interfaith marriage, which was quite controversial in the time when Lebanon was facing civil war, didn’t last long.
Pursued by Israel, Salameh was assassinated in a car bomb in Beirut while Rizk was pregnant with their son.
The series is bound to touch on the couple’s relationship from beginning to end and show the human side of both Salameh and Rizk.
The Red Prince will be available on Shahid’s streaming site any time after Ramadan.
