Lebanon just set this Guinness World Record!

Inspiring!

Lebanon broke the Guinness World Record for the largest mosaic made of recyclable materials.

Since July 3, hundreds of volunteers from across Lebanon joined hands in Waterfront City to build the 971,37-square-meters masterpiece which is made of plastic bottles, cans, and other types of materials.

Wael Jaber is the brainchild of this initiative, according to a source. He is the founder of CleverNés which is a project that targets the waste problem.

Jaber lives in Dubai, and when he came back to Lebanon for a visit, he noticed that the waste problem reached an alarming level. He started this project to prove to people that trash can be turned into art.

The project was done in association with the member of the Lebanese parliament Paula Yacoubian who is active in raising awareness about the benefits of recycling. She hopes this artwork would be a wake-up call for Lebanese people.

Lebanon broke the record for the largest national flag made from notebooks

On May 9, the Lebanese initiative Share the Flag laid down 60,000 red, white, and green notebooks on the Green Field at the American University of Beirut.

The team seeks to raise awareness about the quality and accessibility of education in public schools in Lebanon.

The notebooks were donated to students in public schools. Students use notebooks to learn new subjects, express their thoughts, draw and do their homework. Providing access to quality education to everyone is the only way to build a strong country.
