The Lebanese Army is celebrating the first anniversary of the military operation Fajr Al Jurud (dawn of the outskirts) which was launched a year ago today. The operation succeeded in liberating the northern part of Arsal from ISIS militants.
Last year on August 19, Army Commander General Joseph Aoun launched the operation to liberate Al-Qaa and Ras Baalbeck and free the kidnapped soldiers.
"In the name of Lebanon, in the name of the kidnapped soldiers, in the name of the martyrs' blood, and in the name of the great Lebanese Army... I announce the launching of the 'Fajr Al Jurud' operation," Aoun said.
The Lebanese Army found the bodies of the eight missing soldiers in Wadi El Debb. ISIS kidnapped them in 2014. These are the names of the soldiers: Ibrahim Moughit, Saif Zabyan, Ali Al Masri, Khaled Hassan, Hussein Ammar, Moustafa Wehbe, Ali Al Hajj Hassan, and Mohammad Youssef.
The Lebanese Army shared a 3-minute-video that revisits "Fajr Al Jurud" and honors the soldiers who fought hard for the safety of Lebanon.
We can never thank the Lebanese Army enough!
