The Governor of Michigan state Gretchen Whitmer has recently appointed Lebanese-born Dr. Hassan Yehia to the Michigan State Board of Dentistry, which makes him the youngest and only Endodontist and Middle Eastern to hold that position.
Dr. Yehia is appointed to succeed Dr. Daniel Briskie whose term expired on June 30, 2019. He will represent all dental certified specialists in the State of Michigan for a term expiring June 30, 2023.
"I have every confidence that you will find great personal satisfaction in this important position and that the State of Michigan will benefit from your background and experience," Governor Gretchen Whitmer stated in the appointing letter.
The Lebanese-born Doctor is an associate endodontist with Endodontics PC, which is a specialization in advanced technology care for root canals and microsurgery. He earned his Master of Science in Endodontics and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.
He also completed three years of additional training after dental school at the University of Michigan and he is the only Lebanese American practicing as an endodontic specialist in that state. Dr. Hassan is also a faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry Graduate Endodontic Program.
This is not the first time we hear about Lebanese doctors excelling overseas. In the past few months, many names have been becoming successfully famous on the international scene for achieving great success in different fields.
Around 5 months ago, the Lebanese doctor and professor Khouder Faqih, achieved a first-time scientific and medical breakthrough in the field of surgery in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, after he succeeded in restoring a section of the skull of a 20-year-old girl who was injured in a major accident that shattered part of her skull.
Earlier in March 2019, and when the entire world was shaken by the devastating terrorist attack that killed 50 people in a mass shooting in New Zealand, Lebanese Doctor Adib Khanafer made headlines worldwide for saving the life of a four-year-old child.
On March 19, 2019, Doctor Joseph Adib Khalil, son of the Lebanese village of Mayrouba in the mountain of Kessrwan, was honored with the title "THE BEST OF BEST" of 2019 in the field of dentistry in Washington D.C., United-States.
