On the occasion of the 25th Jubilee of diplomatic relations between Lebanon and South Korea, Lebanon participated in the food products exhibition that was
organized by the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) in Seoul.
Lebanon's participation was held under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Gebran Bassil, and in a unique partnership between the Embassy of Lebanon in Seoul-South Korea and the Lebanese company Sonaco Al-Rabih.
This participation aimed at introducing Lebanon's products to the South Korean market and the South Koreans to the Lebanese cuisine, which comes within the campaign "Tasty Lebanon" launched by Minister Bassil. That campaign seeks to introduce Lebanese cuisine to the world, and with Lebanese products entering the South Korean market, investors could aspire to open Lebanese restaurants in Seoul.
The Lebanese food products' pavilion in Seoul was visited by KOIMA Chairman, who headed a delegation of food importers, accompanied by Lebanese Ambassador Antoine Azzam.
The delegation tasted Lebanon's products and discussed several ways to start importing Lebanese products to South Korea.
Lebanon's participation comes as part of a series of activities done by the Lebanese Embassy in Seoul on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Lebanon and South Korea.
The activities included Lebanon partaking in various exhibitions of tourism and Lebanese wine, a jazz concert, a painting exhibition, and a film festival.
Last month, Lebanon participated for the first time in the South Korea Tourism Fair 2019, held under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil, and in partnership between the Embassy of Lebanon in Seoul and the Lebanese tourism company "Nakhal".
Lebanon's involvement aimed at attracting South Korean tourists to Lebanon through a touristic tour covering Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey.
