The Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced yesterday that there were no casualties reported on New Year’s Eve. Major General Imad Osman congratulated the security forces for their effort in keeping the roads safe. However, a few car accidents occurred but there were no victims. Despite the fact that the Lebanese Army warned against celebratory gunfire, some people shot in celebration of the new year. The ISF announced that four people were slightly injured. A lot of these shooters were identified, and two of them got arrested. Investigations are ongoing to identify more lawbreakers. Overall, the Major General is satisfied with the operation that the ISF conducted. The Lebanese roads on New Year’s Eve were definitely safer than the previous years’ thanks to the effort of the security forces and the Lebanese Army. We started 2018 off right!
